She decides on an impulsive act... Olga runs away from her husband. At the post station, she meets Lugin. He offers her his help. Okhotnikov says goodbye to Elizabeth and leaves St. Petersburg. Elizabeth saves Varya from the claims of Grand Duke Constantine. D'Arny brings Xenia to the outskirts of Paris.
