Episode synopsis

Many animals are at the mercy of their environments, and when a disaster occurs, these animals and their habitats can become endangered. The Brown Pelican is just one example of an animal in critical condition after catastrophic oil spills. In this episode, host Jeff Corwin will visit with a group of well-dressed penguins at the Georgia Aquarium, then journey out to the Breton National Wildlife Refuge in Louisiana to study the Brown Pelican and the efforts in place to protect this precious species.

Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin is a 30-minute show which follows host Jeff Corwin's travels and works in conjunction with the Georgia Aquarium. Airing in 2011 on Saturday mornings on ABC TV channels. Its message of conservation, ocean research, and preserving our ocean habitats are central to each episode. While it is aired for children and family viewing on Saturday mornings, the show is also made with the classroom in mind to help teachers.
