Episode synopsis

Masakichi, a fisherman who picked up a priest statue from a wrecked ship, is visited by it in his dreams. The merchants of Kyoto are attacked by bandits. They manage to escape but their horses and goods are stolen. A loser meets the god of death, who tells him to become a doctor. He does as he's told and immediately becomes very rich... The narration and all character voices are provided by veteran Japanese film actors Akira Emoto and Yoneko Matsukane. An English-subtitled version began "simulcast" availability on the streaming service Crunchyroll March 12, 2012.
