About this season
Food Network Challenge is a competitive cooking television series that currently airs on the Food Network. Each episode, professional chefs compete in a timed competition in their professional specialty. The winner receives a check for $10,000 and a gold medal.

In this first competition, it begins with six pastry chefs who think they have eight hours to showcase their skill and prove why they are the best of the best. Their task is to tell one story of their life in cake.

The Five remaining competitors take a field trip to City Hall where they meet a couple who is getting married that very morning. Not only will the competitors stand as witnesses at the ceremony, they must create a wedding cake for the newlywed's reception party that night.

The remaining four pastry chefs have come prepared to create a cake based on an original superhero, complete with extreme elements not usually seen in cake, like mechanics and fireworks.

Carnivals are a colorful feast for the eyes. So, Challenge invites four top pastry chefs to create their own interpretation of a carnival scene in candy. They can use, chocolate, homemade candy, and sugar.
