DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026
Important. CineFlixo does not host, store, transmit or transcode any video files. We operate solely as an indexing and discovery catalog that links to or embeds content from independent third-party providers. Where a takedown notice concerns content actually hosted by another party, we will assist by promptly removing references and forwarding the complaint upstream where possible.
About the DMCA
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) provides a standardized procedure by which copyright owners may notify online service providers of allegedly infringing material so it can be removed or disabled. CineFlixo respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the DMCA notice-and-takedown framework.
Our Role: Indexer, Not Host
CineFlixo is a metadata-only catalog. Our database stores titles, posters, descriptions, ratings, cast lists and links — information generally available from open sources such as TMDB and the public web. The actual video playback for any title is delivered by independent third-party embedding services. CineFlixo has no control over what those services host, when files are added or removed, or the licensing arrangements they may have with rights holders.
If a third-party provider removes a video, CineFlixo automatically stops serving that embed. If a copyright owner wishes to remove a video at its source, the proper recipient of the notice is the hosting provider — not CineFlixo. We will however remove the corresponding catalog reference upon receiving a valid notice.
How to Submit a DMCA Notice
Send your notice by email to [email protected]. Postal mail is not accepted; email is processed within 24-72 hours during business days.
To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include the following:
- Identification of the work. A clear description of the copyrighted work you claim is being infringed (e.g., the series name, episode number and season, registration number if any).
- Location of the material. The exact URL(s) on cineflixo.com where the allegedly infringing reference appears (e.g.,
https://cineflixo.com/series/12345). Generic claims like “your whole site” are not sufficient. - Contact information. Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number and email address. We must be able to reach you.
- Good-faith statement. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Statement under penalty of perjury. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner, or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
What Happens After You Submit
- We confirm receipt of your notice by email within one business day.
- We review the notice for completeness. Incomplete notices are returned with a request for the missing fields.
- For valid notices, we remove or disable access to the catalog entry within 24 to 72 hours and notify the affected provider when possible.
- We log every notice for transparency and pattern analysis.
Counter-Notification Procedure
If you believe that a catalog entry was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. Send it to the same address ([email protected]) with the following:
- Your name, address, telephone number and email.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which CineFlixo may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
On receipt of a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant files an action seeking a court order against the user.
Repeat Infringers
CineFlixo maintains a policy of disabling and/or terminating access for users or sources that are determined, in appropriate circumstances, to be repeat infringers.
Misuse Notice
Please be aware that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages. If you are not certain whether you hold the rights described, consult an attorney before submitting a notice.
