Helena Taberna is a Spanish film director, producer and screenwriter. Her debut feature film, ‘Yoyes’ (2000), a film about the Basque conflict starring Ana Torrent, had an important impact on critics, awards and box office. Helena has subsequently released the feature films ‘Extranjeras’ (2003), whose background deals with the phenomenon of emigration; ‘La buena nueva’ (2008), about historical memory and the civil war; ‘Nagore’ (2010), which proposes a reflection on gender violence; ‘Acantilado’ (2016), which delves into the universe of sects; and ‘Varados’ (2019), about the current situation of refugees.
