Episode 1

Law Hin Chung is a veterinarian who takes a great interest in body health and urges his brother to jog with him every morning. Law Hing Jo, however, has a playboy character who spends the nights at the clubs and his health leaves much to be desired. Their mother, Lee Yee Kan, spends her life as a devoted educationist. She has a strong control over the family and therefore often arouses disagreement from the family members who regard her as an autocrat. In spite of this, she also earns the respect from her children. Chung's girlfriend, Fong Ling, is a kind and responsible teacher who works at the kindergarten founded by Lee Yee Kan. Unable to obtain any information about 'AIDS' from his brother, Jo goes to take a blood test. While anxiously waiting for the report, he is very disturbed and caught in a fight with his wife. Fortunately, old maid Heung is able to pacify the incident. Afraid that he has got the disease and may not have enough time to arrange everything before he dies, Jo starts acting weird and tells his wife what to do after his death. Ling's father, Ka Cheuk, has borrowed a large sum of money from Lee's husband which takes a long time to settle. Lee has always disliked Ka Cheuk. Jo tells his friend, Kin Ting, about his misfortune of a broken marriage. Kin has arranged his wife, Debbie, to go to the States for emigration purpose while he stays 'in Hong Kong to earn the living. The two friends share their sympathy. Pui Yee hires a private detective to collect evidence against Jo so as to apply to court for a divorce. She also tries every means to retain the right of having her son, Man Man, to stay with her. Having a high regard of Fong Ling's ability, Kin Ting invites her to work as art director at his film company. She works in the same team as Mei Ki and though she is humble to learn, Mei Ki often tries to embarrass her. Yee Kan tries to save the marriage between Jo and Pui Yee but to no avail. To meet the tight production schedule, Kin Ting orders all members of the team to cancel their holiday. Fong Ling has to delay her honey moon plan making Chung very unhappy. Fong Ling has no time for her family since she starts work at the movie company and therefore arouses discontentment from Yee Kan. On the other hand, Ka Cheuk is very supportive and encouraging as he thinks well of his daughter's future career. Mei Ki has a secret liking for Kin Ting and tries to gain his attention. However, Kin Ting just regards her as his assistant. Kin Ting thinks highly of Fong Ling's ability and gives her a very important position. Episode 6

Chung rushes for the wedding and causes much confusion. Fortunately, Jackie is around to arrange everything so that Chung and Fong Ling finally get married. Fong Ling blames Chung for being late for the wedding. Only with Yee Kan's help do the pair resolve their disgruntlement. Fong Ling's aunt, Yuk Chun, comes to Hong Kong from mainland China. Yuk Chun has looked after Fong Ling since when she was a girl and Fong Ling respects her aunt very much. However, since she has spent most of her life in China, she has difficulties in adapting life in Hong Kong and gives Chung a lot of trouble. Siu Mei visits Chung again. She expresses her frustration of being a mistress to secure her living. Chung gives her a lot of encouragement and urges her to turn over a new leaf. He promises to help her to find a job and friendship grows between the two. Envy of Fong Ling getting all attention from Jackie, Mei Ki tries to get acquainted with Jackie but without success. Pui Yee has a hard time initially to get back to work. But as she gains more experience and accumulates more knowledge, she begins to have more confidence in her work. Mei Ki brings Yuk Chun to apply for her identity card. Being impatient to wait with Yuk Chun, she leaves her and asks her to return home by herself. Episode 8

Mei Ki leaves home to stay with Man Yee. Man Yee sympathizes with Mei Ki. She thinks Ka Cheuk has been unfair and has another fight with Yuk Chun. Yuk Chun feels sorry about bringing all the problems between Mei Ki and the family. She decides to move out of the house. Only with Fong Ling and Ka Cheuk's persuasion does she change her mind. Pui Yee has been performing very well in her job. She is highly regarded by one of the clients who invite her to work in his stock agency firm. She feels very encouraging and is much more confident. After divorce, Jo returns to bachelor life and has been enjoying himself for some time. Jo is attracted by Siu Mei when he meets her at Chung's vet. He wants to find out more about her from Chung.
