Episode synopsis
A teenage gang challenge TSUN to a contest. But TSUN remembers his promise to his late wife and would rather take the insult. Luckily the police arrive in time and manage to stop the gang. KAU blames TSUN for sacrificing his mates just to keep an old promise. TSUN feels so depressed, so WAH gives him a few words of comfort. TSUEN realizes that SHING still holds TSUN in high regard. He gets so jealous and tries to convince his assistant SING to create trouble for TSUN. WAH suggests SAU earn a living by making Shanghai steamed buns. TSUEN’s assistant SING comes to set the cafeteria on fire and the kitchen is burnt down. KAU asks TSUEN for an explanation. SHING appreciates KAU’s courage and once again invites him to join his gang. During the birthday party, TSUN agrees to SHING’s request and finally lets KAU join the gang. WAH gets on so well with CHI-CHI, which upsets KAU slightly.… ...

The story takes place in the 1930s. NIP CHUN (MIU KIU WAI), one of the most influential gang leaders in Shanghai for the past twenty years, decides to step down after the sudden death of his wife. He earns his living by selling Shanghai steamed buns, and to make it up to HO SHUI-SAU (HEUNG HOI LAN, ANNE), he hires the lady as his helper. His withdrawal from gang activities has deeply disappointed SHEK SAI-KAU (WONG CHUNG CHAK, BOSCO), who is an ardent follower of him. CHUN was determined not to get involved with any criminal activities. But when he finds out that WU TAI-TSUEN, a buddy from his gang, may have something to do with his wife’s death, and when he sees how his former gang mates are mysteriously killed one by one...
