Episode synopsis

A few years has passed. Kin bumps into Hong who finds it hard to make ends meet. Kin pities him, and arranges for him to work in a restaurant. Hong finds himself being gibed at by his colleagues, and decides to work hard to show his truth worth. Having taken care of Siu Ling and son for years and after Chi Man and Sau Man get married, Yat Fu finally summons the courage to propose to Siu Ling. Siu Ling declines as she does not want to be a burden for Yat Fu, but finally agrees with family support. Hong sends Siu Ling a gift on her wedding. Siu Ling invites him to the banquet, which displeases Kin. Hong still hates Kin. He orchestrates an attempted murder of Kin‘s family so that he could take over Kin's assets as his brother. Hong uses Wong, who is mentally unbalanced. Kin and Cho Kwan escape, but not their son. Police investigations reveal that Wong commits the crime in a unbalanced mental state. Kin is not convinced.

Looking Back in Anger was a 1989 Hong Kong TV series and one of the most watched TVB series by Chinese people in Hong Kong and around the world. Many factors contributed to the success of this series. As well as its tragic but memorable storyline, this series featured a strong cast, with Felix Wong, Deric Wan, Carina Lau, Kathy Chow Hoi-Mei and Maggie Shiu. The popular theme song of the series "Yat sang ho kau" was sung by Danny Chan and later by Deric Wan himself.
