Laxmibai assures Damodar that they would get back their fort today. Damodar promises never to let the British ever enter their fort again. A British officer, Dunlop, spots Ghaus Khan approaching with his men and attacks them but Ghaus Khan manages to escape. Laxmibai asks Nelson to take the safe passage but Hamilton warns Nelson not to. Nelson gets furious with Hamilton and holds him at gunpoint. Nelson asks his soldiers to drop their weapons first and leave the fort. On the other hand, Dunlop orders his men to enter the fort from the same gate from which Nelson will leave and thus corner Laxmibai. Unaware to Dunlop and his men, Ghaus Khan overhears this. Meanwhile, Nelson reaches the gate from which he will leave and asks Laxmibai to release his family. Laxmibai obliges. Nelson then asks Laxmibai that the gate be opened, so she asks her gatekeeper to do the needful.
