At Goulburn Police College in New South Wales, 388 new police recruits celebrate their graduation. After 8 gruelling months of training they are about to hit the beat for the first time.

Probationary Constable Cristina Cidade is a keen kickboxer – skills she’s hoping will help keep her safe on the beat in Sydney. Called to a violent arrest, she’s confronted with a suspect who’s running from police – and does not want to be caught.

Probationary Constable Chris Swadling spends a shift dealing with some of Sydney’s more challenging residents.

In Sydney, two Probationary Constables get their first taste of what it’s like policing Sydney’s biggest event of the year: Mardi Gras. A teeming mass of 300,000 partygoers converge in Sydney’s city to celebrate.

On the beat in Sydney a house fire devastates a family’s home while the owners are out. Probationary Constable Tegan Mobbs helps trace the family who’ve lost everything in the blaze, and picks up the pieces as they arrive home.

Kickboxing police officer Cristina is settling in to life on the beat. But when she’s called to a suspected drug overdose she needs all her wits about her dealing with the after effects.
