When the Vikings left Scandinavia and started sailing west, they were sailing into the unknown. Along the way, Nikolaj challenges modern taste buds with salted cod from Lofoten. On land, Rane looks at the Vikings' achievements and their mentality. What gave them the courage to sail out into the blue?
About The rally
In a unique experiment, a group of Danish sailors and Viking experts embark on a perilous voyage across the North Atlantic to experience first-hand the exploits of the Vikings. A journey of over 5000 km that changed the map of the world forever. Archaeologist Jeanette Varberg tells the story of raids, conquests and their incredible discoveries of new lands, while chef Nikolaj Kirk serves the food the Vikings ate.
