Episode synopsis

This week the full squad return as Gary, Jamie, Jill, Roy and Ian dive into the biggest stories in sport. We start with Gary’s recent trip to the F1, where he spent time behind the scenes with the Mercedes team. He shares what he learned from the experience and, with the title going down to the final race, who will be crowned champion in Abu Dhabi? Wrighty then reflects on the moment Laura Woods collapsed while the pair were working on punditry duty for the Lionesses. Everyone at The Overlap wishes Laura the very best and we’re all relieved to hear she is recovering well. The focus then turns to a chaotic week in football, with several teams battling for consistency. Spurs come under the spotlight as Thomas Frank faces early questions after a tough start to life in north London. The group also debate whether the standard of Premier League managers is dropping year by year, especially after the recent departures of some of the league’s biggest names.
