A new era sees the light of day when farmers from our country go to sea and make themselves known throughout Europe - and further afield. The Vikings bring riches and new knowledge back to the Nordic countries. In time, a new religion will take root here, a faith that challenges the Viking way of life. Simon J Berger is the narrator of the series.
