Hanaa and Sherine continue their conversation with Aliya and Nabawiya, discussing various topics. Scene at Um Sameh’s house at 4 PM. Umm Sameh: Hadiya, don’t eat too much duck; you don’t want to harm the baby. Duck is full of fat and calories. Hadiya: Loudak, loudak. Um Sameh: What does ‘loudak’ mean? Hashad: Hadiya has been silent for 6 years and only says ‘loudak.’ Um Sameh: There is no power or strength except with God. Hadiya is crying. Um Sameh: I’m sorry, Hadiya; I apologize, it’s my fault. Um Sameh: Why is your wife crying, Mr. Hashad? Hashad: Because when she heard the word ‘harm the baby,’ it means you aren’t letting her eat properly.
