Episode 1
Makoto (Konno Ayaka), 29, dreams of a happy family and works as a sales clerk at the advertising agency Adliza. She's dedicated to her work and admired by her colleagues, but in her private life, she's constantly at the mercy of her selfish and self-centered boyfriend, Hayato (Akazawa Ryotaro), and despite being pushed around by him, she remains devoted to him and has been living with him for three years. One day, at a department drinking party, she witnesses her boyfriend Hayato cheating on her with her junior colleague, Aina (Hoshino Yumena). Makoto instinctively flees the scene, but with nowhere to go and nowhere to turn, she finds herself at a loss. Just then, she is offered a helping hand by her boss, Odagiri (Totsuka Shota), feared and known as the "gang boss" within the company. Meanwhile, Tora Senzaki (Nakamura Rea), a detective investigating organized crime, sets his sights on a gang called the Fudo-kai... A dangerous cohabitation with a cold-hearted boss begins!

Episode 2
Makoto (Konno Ayaka) ends up spending some time at Odagiri's (Totsuka Shota) house. Odagiri's behavior at work is completely different from how he behaves, and he's concerned about Makoto at home, which makes her feel uneasy... Makoto is bombarded with questions about the drinking party by her junior colleagues Aina (Hoshino Yumena), Yumi (Asahi Nanami), and her colleague Matsumoto (Horie Kazuki), while her ex-boyfriend Hayato (Akazawa Ryotaro) relentlessly pursues her in an attempt to get back together with her. Yuto grows impatient with Makoto's refusal to give in and calls her to a certain place, where he takes an unexpected action. However, when Makoto is cornered, the mysterious "Fudo-kai Wakagashira, Odagiri Ren" and his aide Kiba (Masaki Reiya) appear before him...!? "What did you do to my woman?" Meanwhile, Tora (Nakamura Rea) and Aoki (Yamazaki Hikaru), who are pursuing the Wakagashira, continue their investigation desperately, hoping to find some clues, but...

Episode 3
Tora (Nakamura Reia) and Aoki (Yamazaki Hikaru) continue their investigation, pursuing the underboss, but have yet to discover his true identity. Meanwhile, Makoto (Konno Ayaka) has begun living with her boss, Odagiri (Totsuka Shota). The two gradually grow closer as they spend peaceful time together, eating breakfast together and shopping for daily necessities. However, at the shopping mall, she encounters her junior colleague, Aina (Hoshino Yumena). In the face of Aina's relentless harassment, Ren resolutely protects Makoto. Touched by Ren's great kindness, Makoto begins to realize that she has special feelings for him, but pretends not to notice these feelings and continues looking for a new home. Watching Makoto, Ren tells her that he is "special," and their relationship finally takes a new step. Meanwhile, Aina, suspicious of Ren's true identity, investigates his secret and eventually captures the evidence of that "secret" in photographs...

Episode 4
Odagiri (Totsuka Shota) and Makoto (Konno Ayaka) have come to understand each other's feelings, and their relationship has gone from boss and subordinate to "lovers." Makoto is touched when he gently strokes her head and says "good night," but she's excited and hopes for a sweet development...!? At work, Aina (Hoshino Yumena) has obtained photographic evidence that Odagiri is a real gangster, and she presses him to resign. Odagiri is in a difficult position, but he tells Makoto that he'll "explain it to her someday" so as not to worry her, and leaves the house. Makoto waits, trusting Odagiri without asking for the reason... Meanwhile, Tora (Nakamura Rea) is pursuing the Fudo-kai with his subordinate Aoki (Yamazaki Hikaru) when he spots his childhood friend Makoto. "Makoto?" Tora's feelings intensify as he sees Makoto, whom he has had feelings for for a long time. Then, a phone call to Makoto casts a shadow over their happy life...

Episode 5
Makoto (Konno Ayaka) is excited about her first date with Ren (Totsuka Shota). However, her happiness is shattered when her abusive mother, Hiroko (Yamada Kinuo), who she thought she had estranged from, reappears. "I'll never let you get away," she says. She is saved by her kind childhood friend, Tora (Nakamura Reia), who has become a detective. Makoto longs for her brief reunion with Tora, but Tora secretly harbors feelings for her. Then, on the night of her date with Ren, her mother, Hiroko, suddenly bursts into the restaurant. Her mother's whispered curses and the ruined date drag Makoto back to a nightmare from the past. However, she tearfully pleads with Ren for help, and Ren promises to support her. Meanwhile, Tora, worried about Makoto, discovers a shocking truth about the "young boss of a yakuza gang" he is pursuing as a detective... Should she choose her beloved boss or her childhood friend who will protect her? Makoto's destiny is about to change dramatically.

Episode 6
Makoto (Konno Ayaka), suffering from threats from her mother Hiroko (Yamada Kinuo), whom she thought she had estranged, tearfully asks Ren (Totsuka Shota) for help. Ren gently comforts her and tells her, "There's no need to force yourself to see her. It's okay to run away." However, in order to finally move forward, Makoto decides to break away from her mother. Once the issue with Makoto's mother is resolved, Ren plans to tell Makoto the "secret" he has been hiding. "There's something I've never been able to tell you," he says. Just as he is about to reveal this "secret," he receives news from Kiba Haruka (Masaki Reiya) that "my father (Tatekawa Shiraku) has collapsed." Makoto sends Ren and Kiba off, but he looks worried... Meanwhile, Tora (Nakamura Reia), who has discovered Ren's true identity, rushes to Makoto's side. Makoto says that Tora is kind and worried about her, but Tora finally confesses his long-held feelings to her, saying, "It's because I love you."

Gunshots rang out. The identity of the man I loved is now revealed
Ren (Totsuka Shota) races through the city at night to save Makoto (Konno Ayaka), who has been kidnapped by someone. At the same time, his childhood friend Tora (Nakamura Reia) is also desperately searching for her whereabouts. With the same thought in mind, "to protect the one I love," the two head towards the culprit.

Episode 8
Ren (Totsuka Shota) finally confesses to Makoto (Konno Ayaka) that he is a person living in the world of the yakuza. Faced with the heavy truth that Ren, who had spoken so many kind words to her and supported her so much, is now the underboss of the yakuza, Makoto decides to leave Ren for now. The two are torn apart beyond repair.
