Twinkles the Elephant — Season 1, Episode 36: Twinkles and the Game
Animation • 2 min • 1 season, 52 episodes
Episode synopsis
Twinkles and his friends gathered at Twinkles' house, wondering what game to play. Suggestions flew, from marbles to building a treehouse, until Fulton proposed hide and seek. Twinkles volunteered to be "it," joking that he was too big to hide anyway. As he counted, everyone scattered to find hiding spots. Twinkles found Sanford on a streetlight, Wilbur in a barrel, and Fulton in a hedge. However, he couldn't find Jimmy the zebra. When Twinkles finally gave up, Twinkles finally gave up and called everyone in. Jimmy then revealed he had been standing in front of a picket fence, blending in perfectly with his stripes, and everyone laughed at his clever hiding spot.
About Twinkles the Elephant
Twinkles the Elephant is an American animated Total Television Productions series that aired as part of the NBC Saturday morning cartoon King Leonardo and His Short Subjects in 1960. The series was a tie-in with Twinkles cereal, and the titular elephant Twinkles served as the mascot. The character was actually created by Total Television. The segment was the only segment on Short Subjects to not return in later syndication, primarily due to the FCC whom were stern about television shows consisting of cereal brand characters, as well as the character being dated regardless due to the cereal's discontinuation.
