Bobby and everyone else in the Beechwale family is excited as they prepare for Pappi and Sheetal's anniversary party. Sheetal wanst her favorite cake for the party and Bobby promises her the same. Beechwale is a story of today’s middleclass man who’s stuck between his aspirations and values. He dreams of having a big house, car, foreign trips etc. but is folded back by his limited income. Bobby Beechwale’s grandfather was a freedom fighter with “Bapuji”. “Bappuji” had lovingly given him a name that of "Beechwale", which he lovingly added to his surname, as he was found caught in the middle of any given situation. He was in the middle during the freedom fight and had been beaten up by the Britishers and now this generation is getting beating by the system. Beechwale family still seeks answers of all their problems from “Bapuji” because they still believe “ Bapu” dekh raha hai.
