In Japan, there is a concept called "wake-ari" to describe an item that has a specific flaw and is therefore discounted. CHEAP RENT is a compilation of interviews, reenactments, and investigations concerning real estate properties connected to paranormal reports.

A real estate agent tells a tale about an apartment room with a darker history; A Honeymoon turns into a nightmare when a couple gets attacked by an unknown force in their hotel room.

A paranormal camera captures a dark shadow permeating an empty bar after hours, has also been known for poltergeist and other eerie customer experiences; A share house is abandoned by all flat mates when each of them experience a bone chilling ghost phenomena, the crew and cast of the show spend a night to investigate, only to regret their poor decision.
