Episode synopsis
HON would like CHU to comment on his dishes without prejudice. So he asks LEI to claim she prepares them. CHU is too tired to eat anything when he is home. LEI takes the food home. She runs into TUNG at the door. He finds the food unpalatable. YEE learns from TUNG why HON learns cooking from her. YEE is very strict with HON. He has to work overtime very often. TUNG apologizes to YEE and pleads her to let HON leave on time. CHING also finds YEE too demanding. YEE has cooked some deep-fried taro balls. KWAI takes some to TUN. He likes them very much. And when he finds out about the names of her dishes, he realizes what YEE has done for HON.
About Be Home for Dinner
Chung Kwok-Chu is a renowned food critic and an assistant editor-in-chief of a newspaper, Ko Jim Daily. When his son, Si-Hon returns from Canada, Chu is disappointed to find that Si Hon intends to become a chef rather than taking up a professional career. His attempts to guide his son away are thwarted when Shum Bui-yee, a well-known and respected chef, reluctantly accepts Si-Hon as her assistant. Meanwhile, Kwok-Chu struggles to keep peace amongst extended family members.
