Episode synopsis

KWAI waits YEE at Joyful Kitchen. YEE has received piles of letters from her supporters. The letter sent from Buenos Aires catches her attention. MAK LOK-KEI, a business friend of TUNG’s, tells TUNG to pass a pair of wedding bangles to YEE. The memory of how her mother and her younger sister left home returns to her as soon as she sees the bangles. TUNG has bought some chocolate donuts to YEE to cheer her up after learning about her past. YEE has a dream of her father forcing her to burn her mother and sister’s photographs. She cannot see her mother’s face clearly in the dream. She wakes with a start. She cannot believe that she has forgotten how her mother looks like. YEE asks KWAI to sell the bangles, so KWAI takes them to Pakbaodot. TUNG volunteers to take care of the sales of the bangles.

About Be Home for Dinner

Chung Kwok-Chu is a renowned food critic and an assistant editor-in-chief of a newspaper, Ko Jim Daily. When his son, Si-Hon returns from Canada, Chu is disappointed to find that Si Hon intends to become a chef rather than taking up a professional career. His attempts to guide his son away are thwarted when Shum Bui-yee, a well-known and respected chef, reluctantly accepts Si-Hon as her assistant. Meanwhile, Kwok-Chu struggles to keep peace amongst extended family members.
