Episode synopsis
Clouds are gathering over Chaoge City, and everyone, civil and military, is in danger; at the same time, the disciples of the Chan and Jie sects are holding a century-old meeting of immortals. The two sect leaders of Yuanshi Tongtian talked about the appearance of evildoers in Chaoge. He decided to send a capable disciple down the mountain to conquer the goblin. Yuanshi fell in love with the kind-hearted and honest old disciple Jiang Ziya. Ziya's junior brother Shen Gongbao had evil intentions. Hearing that those who came down the mountain would enjoy wealth in the world in the future, he strongly requested his master to send him there. Yuanshi used the Heavenly Book to test out the difference between Ziya and Shen Gongbao's mind, and finally decided to send Ziya down the mountain and grant Ziya the most precious Heavenly Book in Yuxu Palace.

The Investiture of the Gods is a 1990 Chinese shenmo television series written by Bing Tian, Gu Hanchang, Ouyang Yuping and Yu Youchen. The television series are based on the classical 16th-century novel Fengshen Yanyi (also known as Investiture of the Gods or Creation of the Gods) written by Xu Zhonglin and Lu Xixing.
