Episode synopsis
Jiang Wenhuan, son of Dong Bohou, rebelled in order to avenge his father. King Zhou ordered Li Jing, the commander-in-chief of Chentangguan, to step up military training and take strict precautions. On the day Li Jing was appointed, his wife, who was three years and six months pregnant, also gave birth to a round flesh ball. In panic, Li Jing split open the meat ball with his sword, but out of it jumped out a lively and cute little boy who could talk as soon as he landed on the ground. Taiyi Zhenren of Jinguang Cave in Qianyuan Mountain came to visit and accepted the child as his disciple, naming him "Nezha".

The television series are based on the classical 16th-century novel Fengshen Yanyi (also known as Investiture of the Gods or Creation of the Gods) written by Xu Zhonglin and Lu Xixing.
