Episode synopsis

1998 year. Gordeev happens to be a witness of a crime - a girl is killed. He detains the killer. This maniac, on account of which more than a dozen such crimes. All the victims are female students, on the corpses the murderer leaves greeting cards. The medical examination finds him insane and sends him to compulsory treatment. Our days. At the institute, where Gordeev's daughter is studying, there is a murder. On the corpse of the student, they find a greeting card. The investigation manages to find out that two weeks ago a maniac managed to escape from a psychiatric hospital, and the victim was not an accidental victim, it was her father who was an investigator in the case of a maniac. The search for a maniac does not yield any results. In the meantime, the son of another participant in that trial is being killed. There are no such coincidences. Gordeyev understands that the next victim may be his own daughter. Together with Kamenskaya, they must reach the track of a maniac before he gets to Lena Gordeeva.
