Episode synopsis
On the street, YEE is being kidnapped by HEI. After a thorough consideration, TAN decides to stay with LARINE. Somebody tells TAN that YEE is being kidnapped by HEI. TAN hurries to save YEE. HEI insults TAN when he is trying to save YEE. TAN then decides to reunite with EMPEROR and competes with HEI. YAN is very upset to learn that LARINE will soon back to the palace. LARINE does not want YAN to wait for her and expresses that she only loves EMPEROR. LARINE backs to the palace. JOJO tries to win LARINE’s sympathy. LARINE does not move at all. TAN is determined to become successful and asks EMPEROR to let YAN stay with him. TAN secretly collects HEI’s criminal evidence and denounces his bad deeds to EMPEROR. EMEROR punishes HEI with forty beats. LARINE is heart-broken. She blames JOJO who does not teach HEI well, so JOJO has to bear twenty beats. LARINE brings HEI some tincture and teaches him the right way……

Larine and Jojo have been friends since childhood. They have both been chosen to be mistresses to the emperor because of their beauty. Larine's mother died a long time ago.
