For decades, the National Geographic Society has presented specials on nature, foreign culture, scientific breakthroughs, and things which fall under the general category of "neat stuff." Each special is self-contained.

A special expedition to study these fish of legend and challenge myths surrounding them. Journeys in a specially designed cage to observe sharks at close range, experimenting with a stainless steel suit to survive a shark attack.
2. Egypt: Quest for Eternity

Documentary about ancient Egypt, its temples, paintings and art, and how these old treasures are being endangered by modern civilization. Also shown are the Nile river, the Luxor and Karnak temples, the Sphynx, the Great Pyramids of Giza, the river path to the Land of the Dead, the pharaohs and queens' tombs, as well as egyptologysts' interpretation of Ancient Egypt mysteries.

Shows how Canadians learn to coexist with the polar bears that migrate each year through their town.
4. The Thames

Deals with the history of England as seen through places located near the Thames River.
