The Wilson family operates a charming, untouched resort on Butterfly Island, despite facing financial difficulties and stiff competition from new, glamorous resorts nearby. In the first episode of the series, a young Vietnamese refugee named Vo Diem arrives and unwittingly becomes entangled in a developer's criminal scheme to displace the Wilson family from the island.
