Knife-Stealing Challenge
Baichuan is famous for the gourmet cuisines of Seven Chefs. For more than 200 years, the Seven Chefs are the only five-star chefs. According to the rules of the Chef Alliance in Baichuan City, if a chef wants to rank up, that chef has to challenge another chef of the same rank in a knife-stealing challenge. The restaurant of the loser will be shut down and the loser's name will be removed from the industry. All who challenged the Seven Chefs failed. But the head chef of Chunxing, Jiang Jie, managed to become a five-star chef through the knife-stealing challenge in under a year. Jiang Jie holds a grudge against Xue Congming for refusing to take her in. So, he decides to challenge the Xue Clan first.

On the way home, Li Nai, who faced setbacks in opening a restaurant, runs into Jiang Jie. Learning that Jiang Jie lives in the same block, Li Nai proposes to taste his cooking. After trying Jiang Jie's snakehead fish noodles, Li Nai realizes that her cooking skills are far from being able to reclaim her master's knife.
Winning The Bet
Li Nai's mistakes while preparing the staff meal made Jiang Jie furious. She argues with him due to differing opinions. Li Nai wants to resign. Jiang Jie wishes to make her stay. He uses the meal she owes him as an excuse to try the head chef set in Zhaoyeqing. Jiang Jie tells her that he didn't choose her to be the warehouse keeper to pick on her. It's because Li Nai has a keen sense of smell. It gives her an advantage when it comes to identifying ingredients. He rescinds her resignation application.

Zhao Jingjing and Jiang Jie formally meet at a dinner organized by people in the Alliance. Jiang Jie seeks out Zhao Jingjing alone and talks to her about Zhong Haiyang. Faced with Zhong Haiyang's vague responses, Zhao Jingjing already has a clear answer in her heart. She stubbornly believes that her father's heart only has Zhaoyeqing and not her as a daughter. In her sorrow and anger, she decides to take the initiative to challenge Jiang Jie in order to steal his knife.
Resolving Past Grievances
On the day of the welcome banquet for Mr. Xu Kang, Jiang Xiu returns to the country. The Jiang family announces Jiang Xiu's appointment as the new head chef of Xijiangyue. Cui Can restores the broken knife from the Li family and finds out that it's the lost knife of the Li family that was once a member of the Seven Chefs. Li Nai realizes that she's the successor of the Li family under the Seven Chefs of Baichuan.
The Truth Is Revealed
Song Ze claims to have clues about the ham, which arouses Li Nai's suspicion. As Song Ze's true colors come to light, his underlying jealousy is revealed. He plans to set fire to the kitchen to frame Li Nai.
