Paul encounters Spencer, a stray beagle who has a contagious virus. Later: he meets Lydia the Hungarian puli, a heavily dreadlocked rare pedigree who is suffering in the hot summer heat. Finally, he takes Tintin the tearaway yorkie on a trip to the hairdressers.

Paul sets up 10-month old mongrel Blake with a canine partner to help with his ailing sight, and tries to cheer up Jacko the jack russell using aromatherapy. Lastly, he tries to find a way to entertain Forest, a 14-week old saluki that has been isolated in quarantine due to an infectious tummy bug.

Paul encounters a toothless boxer named Prince and seriously considers rehoming Prince himself. Later: he meets a quirky Yorkshire terrier named Dash, who barks with a very unusual, squeaky voice.

Paul meets abandoned stray spaniel Willow, who was found tied up to a tree outside Battersea's Old Windsor site in a dreadful condition. He sets to work trying to get dog back on her feet as he nurses her through numerous treatments.

Paul meets a litter of ten newborn Staffie cross pups and their mother Luna. He has the enviable task of helping to socialize these them. But before Paul can help, events take a turn when Aries, his favorite, worryingly falls sick along with her siblings Mars and Saturn.

Paul meets a smelly, yet charming dog, and also encounters a Cavachon that is finding life in a kennel a bit overwhelming.

Paul meets Dudley, an old English sheepdog who is just six-weeks old and looks like a fluffy teddy bear. The little guy is profoundly deaf, which means puppy training is proving tricky. So Paul sets to work trying to teach Dudley doggie sign language.
