Antwerp detective inspector Tom Segers and his partner Rob Biesemans have been after the drug gang of 'Rosse (i.e red-haired) John' for a long time. During a critical stake-out, they go in before reinforcements are properly in position, and Rob gets killed by Rosse. As if facing his buddy's widow and orphan weren't bad enough, Tom is under serious investigation by internal affairs. He's in no state to continue this investigation, and the 'two Jeans', uniformed patrol car partners, mistake another red-hair for the fiend. The only one who may deliver Rosse John to Tom ...

Internal affairs examines his ex Katrien Meersman's staged rape claim against commissioner Wim Jacobs. The two Jeans are negligent when arresting a street vandal, one of them even looses his service gun; they decide to keep quiet, later must handle a father who threatens to drop his child from a deadly height unless the mother returns to him. Chief cares only for her daughters, victims of a hit and run; the eldest proves terminal. Tom and Danny give tracing the guilty car priority over a series of DVD thefts, but informer Ruige Ronny has an urgent tip to find Rosse ...

When Tom convinces the chief commissioner -whose husband Roy moves out 'to think about their relationship'- to raid a presumed whorehouse, they find it really houses illegals from Eastern Europe, possibly a case of 'modern slave trade' for prostitution. The two Jeans find a neighborhood terrorized by a youngsters' street gang, who scare possible witnesses out of testifying. Ivo fears he may have to leave to Antwerp PD to take care of his dementia-stricken wife. A jeweler reports his wife missing, she's found killed shortly after.

Snitch Ronny recognizes Ilena, one of the prostitutes in the Rumanian slaver's club Stars & Stripes, but the manager claims to be an unconnected owner; when another girl talks, she's run over... Thin Jean tries in vain to convince or threaten gay waiter Marcel into withdrawing his sexual harassment complaint against colleague fat Jean, but is only offered a 1,000 Euro pay-off; however he has a magic trick up his sleeve...
